Afya Elimu is the ‘HELB’ loan fund offered to needy students pursuing pre-service medical training at mid-level for example diploma & certificate level only) .

So, when you join KMTC and you need financial support this is the loan to go for.

Is Afya Elimu loan open for first time applicants?

To be precise, the answer to your question is NO! it is not open.

In fact, the application was open  from 4th October, 2023 until September 30, 2023.

Therefore, you have the whole October and September to process your application and express your interest in funding your college education but if you did not do so the application is now closed.

Diploma in Special Needs Education

When you take this course, you specialize in teaching special need pupils.

Minimum entry requirements: KCSE mean grade of C plain or its equivalent

Additionally, you must have a C plain in two teaching subjects

Mode of study: Full time and DIBel

Course duration: 7 Trimester when studying full time and 8 semester DIBel

How to apply through KUCCPS

To apply for any of the above courses, you can apply through KUCCPS using the following steps.

1. Check if the KUCCPS website on net portal is open.
2. If yes, go ahead and log in by entering your KCSE Index Number, the year you did your KCSE, and your password.

Side note: Your password is usually either KCPE Index or Birth Certificate Number

1. From there, revise or just make a new course application by clicking on the Application/revision tab on KUCCPS website.
2. Next, confirm whether you have qualified for the course, you have selected and if yes finish the process by submitting.

Remember, you will have to do the application before deadline since KUCCPS portal closes after deadline.

Also, it should be noted that KUCCPS always announce when it is open through the social media so keep a close eye to get to know when it is open.

Just to remind you, you must have a TSC number to be a secondary teacher and to stand a chance to be hired by TSC.
