The lowest fee at MKU is Kshs. 105,000 per academic year (for business-related courses), while the highest is Kshs. 510,000 per academic year for the bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery.

An example of how affordable it is: A bachelor of laws (LLW) at MKU costs Kshs. 170,000, whereas the same course at the University of Nairobi costs Kshs. 221,850 and Kshs. 183,600 at Kenyatta University and Maseno University.

3.     Kenyatta University

Kenyatta University, located in Nairobi, is one of the leading and oldest public universities in Kenya, as well as one of the least expensive and most accessible.

While fees vary by program, Kenyatta University is generally considered more affordable than other institutions.

Besides, it is committed to making education more accessible by offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs at affordable tuition fees.

The tuition fee per academic year ranges between Kshs. 153,000 and Kshs. 612,000, depending on the course you are taking.

 

4.     Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) is yet another very affordable option among universities in Kenya.

MMUST is located in Kakamega and is well-known for its science and technology programs.
