Is bachelor of arts marketable in Kenya?

So, is bachelor of arts marketable in Kenya?

Well, below is our answer to the question “is bachelor of arts marketable in Kenya?” here at kenyaeducationguide.com

Is bachelor of arts marketable in Kenya?

Well, it depends on what your arts degree is in..

Meaning?

Now, a Bachelor of Arts degree in some fields (remember it’s colloquially called Bachelors of Anything because there’s a BA in a whole range of subjects including history, sociology, literature,  psychology, etc) will be marketable.

A good example is Bachelor of Arts in Education- teachers will be in demand for the foreseeable future.

Likewise, because depression has become a major crisis in Kenya, making demand for counsellors soar, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology can be very marketable.

But if you take a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Security Studies- and I’m not hating on the course- you’re likely to take a little longer to get a worthwhile job in your line (the degree is mainly best for those already working in the security sector such as police officers or private guards)

The same can be said of BA degrees such as Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology- jobs are not so plenty.

So, the answer again is: IT DEPENDS…

Is bachelor of arts marketable in Kenya? Recap

Well, it depends on what your arts degree is in..

In a nutshell, while a Bachelor of Arts degree in fields such as Bachelor of Arts in Education could be marketable(teachers will be in demand for the foreseeable future), a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Security Studies may not be very marketable unless you’re a cop or a private security guard seeking a promotion.

So the best strategy is to spend some time researching and selecting a bachelor of arts degree in a niche that has great employment potential unless you have a plan to venture into business/self-employment (you could start a consultancy after your BA, etc.)

Our two cents..
