But overall, the fees is as follows (the range):
Kshs. 30000 – 60000 per trimester (for 3 trimesters) – again depending on where you’re taking the course
So budget about Kshs.200000 as tuition fees.
I’m wondering if you know that the certificate takes just 1 year to finish?
Diploma in Perioperative theatre technology fees structure
Kshs. 45000 – 70000 per trimester (for 6 trimesters) – it’s as I had said dependent on where you’re taking the course
So budget about Kshs.350000 as tuition fees.
Remember that the Diploma takes 2 years to complete.

Of course, accommodation is paid separately.
In addition, Indexing, licensing and external examination fees shall be paid separately as stipulated by the relevant national regulatory bodies.
Also, there might be extra costs associated with attachment/internship as well as learning materials
Certification (The Examiners)
Option 1: TVET CDACC
This is the exam that I told you is typically paid for separately above and it’s the exam that you take for the course in quite a number of institutions
Option 2: The institution
In some cases, the institution you’re studying in examines the programme and the fee may be included in the fee structure so ask about it when doing your enquiry to be sure.
Which colleges can you enroll in for the Perioperative theatre technology course in Kenya?
Nowadays there are numerous colleges teaching the course (from TVETs to Medical Training Colleges) so you are spoilt for choice.
That said, here is a list of some of them to help point you in the right direction:
- Nairobi Womens Hospital College –Waithaka(Dagoretti South)
- BetaCare Training Institute (BCTI)
- PCEA Chogoria Mission Hospital Clive Irvine College – Diploma in Perioperative theatre technology only
Please note that KMTC does not offer the programme at the moment for there’s no diploma or certificate in Perioperative theatre technology at KMTC
Otherwise, most of the private medical colleges do offer it
Intakes for Theatre Assistant Course
For the most part, intakes are in the following months in many of the colleges offering the course in Kenya:
