Mount Kenya University online courses – minimum entry requirements

Course level Minimum entry requirement
Masters’ degree programs ·         At least a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Honors-Upper Division from a recognized University or equivalent

Or,

·         A bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Honors-Lower Division with a minimum of two years’ work experience.

Postgraduate diploma programs A bachelors’ degree in a relevant area, with Second Class Honours-Upper Division or its equivalent qualification from any recognized university.
Bachelor’s degree programs At least a KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) or its equivalent or a Diploma in a relevant field.
Diploma programs A KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) or a certificate in a relevant field
Certificate programs A KCSE mean grade of D+ (plus) or equivalent qualification

 

Please keep in mind that certain courses require relevant cluster subject qualifications for admission, which you must also meet.

 

How to apply for Mount Kenya University online courses

To apply for an online course, simply go to MKU’s application portal and download the application form, or go to the ODEL Center on any MKU campus and collect the application form.

Alternatively, you can also apply online by visiting their website here.

It is important to note that copies of relevant academic and professional certificates, one passport-size photo, and a copy of your national ID card or birth certificate must be submitted with the application.

Also, please keep the following application fees in mind:

  • An application fee ofKshs.1000 for certificate, diploma and undergraduate programs, and Kshs.2000 for post-graduate programs (for Kenyan applicants).
  • An application fee of 50 USD for Non-Kenyan applicants (for all the programs).

It’s also worth noting that application fees should only be paid to the accounts listed below:
