Masai technical training institute fees structure

Before we go to the fee structure, keep in mind Masai technical training institute is a government institution registered, accredited, and regulated by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) under TVET act and it offers various diploma, certificate, and artisan courses to students.

So here is the Masai technical training institute fees structure for diploma, certificate, and artisan courses.

 

Masai technical training institute fees structure -Fee breakdown

That being so, the total Fees per year for all courses is Kshs. 56,420.

Remember that since it is government-sponsored, if you apply through KUCCPS, then you are likely get  the Kshs. 30,000.00 capitation the governments awards students in its TVET colleges annually.

That means you’ll then pay a total of 26,420 per year.

Now, in the first term, you pay a total fee of Kshs. 18, 640 and you need to clear the remaining balance within the second term.

To make it clear, fees should be paid as follows:

Government grants (capitation)= Kshs. 30,000.00

Parent/guardian/self =Kshs. 26,420.00

Total fees to be paid =Kshs. 56,420

Apart from a total of Kshs. 56,420 that each student should pay (this is inclusive of capitation), note that you also pay Kshs. 900 for M.T.T.I Trainees’ Council (for artisan courses and both module 1 certificate and diploma courses).

Also, for modules 2 and 3 you are required to pay M.T.T.I Trainees’ Council of Kshs. 600 for both certificate and diploma courses.

Along with that, all students pay Kshs. 300 for Trainee’s ID Card.

In short, you should pay fees as simplified below:

 

Fees for artisan courses (1 year) and diploma and Certificate (Module 1)

Tuition fee: Kshs. 56,420

M.T.T. I Trainees’ Council: Kshs. 900

Trainee’s ID Card: Kshs. 300

Total = Kshs. 58620

Fees for certificate and diploma (Modules 2 and 3)

Tuition fee: Kshs. 56,420

M.T.T. I Trainees’ Council: Kshs. 600

Trainee’s ID Card: Kshs. 300

Total = Kshs. 58620

Quick note: Accommodation, external examination, and material fees are not included in the above annual fee so you’ll need to have a separate budget for these.

Masai technical training institute fees structure -Payment mode, Intakes, Hostels, Financial Aid and How to apply

In this section, we will look at  where to pay the  fees, when to apply for different courses(when intakes are ongoing in the institution), and how to get accommodation.

Payment mode

Fee at Masai technical training institute is to be paid by  depositing to KCB Bank A/C NO.1107674484 (Thika Branch)- and you can pay through any KCB bank countrywide.

However, you can also pay via Mpesa pay bill no.522123 and use account no. 84219K and then your admission number.

Another option, especially if you’re a fresher is buying a bankers’ cheque.

Side note: The college does not accept cash payments.

Masai technical training institute Intakes dates

Different departments have different intakes so when you can join will depend on the course you’re taking.

Here is what you need to know:

If you would like to pursue a course in Technical Engineering, the intake and admission are in May and September only.

And if you want to pursue a course in business and IT, intake and admissions are in January and September only.

Hostels (Accommodation)

Inexpensive hostel accommodation is available at Masai technical training institute internally and you only pay Kshs. 5000per term.

Keep in mind that the competition for hostels is stiff and the college allocates on first come first serve basis so hurry if you’re targeting staying inside the college.

Indeed, you need confirm that some hostels rooms are available before you pay for accommodation in the institute.

Speaking of paying for hostels, accommodation fee is paid separately by making a direct bank deposit to KCB A/C NO: 1107479681 at any KCB Branch and does not include meals (here you pay for every meal on pay as you eat plan)

 

How to apply

To get a place at Masai technical training institute and benefit from the government capitation of Kshs. 30, 000, apply through Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).

So visit KUCCPS Student’s Portal accessible through the Placement Service website www.kuccps.ac.ke and confirm if the application is open.

If open, Choose the course you would like to pursue from the KUCCPS portal and then choose Masai technical training institute.

Finally, select the course you would like to pursue and submit.

But if not open, keep checking the media and follow KUCCPS social media media pages to be the first to know when it next opens.

Please note that all available Programmes, institutions, minimum entry requirements, and the application procedure are always available on the KUCCPS portal.

Otherwise, you can apply direct to the institute as an independent student in which case you will be paying the entire Kshs.56420.oo fee yourself.

 

Financial Aid

To cater for your fee and upkeep, the government of Kenya through HELB awards loans to needy students (for those in need).

The good news is that if you get admitted to Masai technical training institute, you can apply for loan from HELB to help you pay your fee and for upkeep using the steps below.

Steps to follow:

  1. Firstly, you must access and fill out the relevant TVET Loan & Bursary Application Form (TLAF) at the HELB website.
  2. When you get the application form, print 2 copies of the duly filled Loan Application Form.
  3. After that, fill out the TVET Loan Application Form and have it signed and stamped by the Dean of Students/Financial Aid Officers.
  4. Remember to retain one copy of the duly filled TLAF (Mandatory).
  5. Lastly, drop the TLAF personally at the HELB students Service Centre or SELECT Huduma Centers nearest to you.
