Karatina university fees structure [Intakes, how to apply and accommodation]
Intakes
Karatina University has its intakes in January, May, and September.
And the intakes are for the following mode of studies Full Time, Weekend, and Evening classes.
How to apply
Application as a self-sponsored student
- To apply, you can obtain the form from Karatina university main campus or the town campus.
- Alternatively, you can Download Here and for the Ph.D. Application form click here to download it.
- After downloading, fill out the form and attach all the required relevant certificates plus a payment slip.
- Finally, return the form to the registrar’s office.
Besides,
- You can apply by going to the institution website and applying online.
- Next, attach all the required scanned documents as instructed.
- Lastly, pay the application fee and then submit.
Application through KUCCPS as a government-sponsored student
To apply as a government-sponsored student, you must apply through KUCCPS to benefit from government capitation.
Steps to apply through KUCCPS
- If you recently did your KCSE, go to the KUCCPS application portal here to apply through KUCCPS.
- Next, enter your KCSE index number followed by the year you sat for your KCSE and your KCPE index number or birth certificate number.
- From there, go ahead and revise or just make a new course application as appropriate by simply clicking on the Application/revision tab.
- Now, confirm if you have qualified for the course, you have selected and go ahead and finish the process by paying the application and then submit.
Side note:
The application fee is different for different Programmes.
With that said, below is the application fee you pay.
- Ph.D.. Programmes- Kshs. 3,000
- Masters Programmes -Kshs. 2,000
- Undergraduate -Kshs. 1,000

For any payment, please note that the university will not accept any cash payment.

Accommodation
Students are advised to make arrangements when it comes to accommodation, food, and other personal expenses.
However, 1st-year students are lucky since they are accommodated at Kshs. 6500 per semester.
