Minimum entry requirements:
- KCSE mean grade of C minus.
Cluster Subjects requirements:
- C- minus in either English or Kiswahili.
- C- minus in biology or biological sciences.
- D+ plus in either Physics/Physical Sciences, Chemistry, or Mathematics.
Course duration:
This course takes a duration of 2 years and each year takes 2 semesters.

Apart from the above academic requirements that you must meet to enroll for different nursing programs at KMTC, below are other qualifications that are taken into consideration.
Age requirements:
You should be at least not less than 17 years of age at the time of admission.
Medical Fitness qualifications:
For you to be admitted for a nursing course, you must undergo a medical examination.
Here, the examination is done to ascertain your physical and mental fitness to determine if you are fit to undertake the nursing program.
For example, the examination ensures that students can meet the demands of the profession and perform clinical duties effectively.
Below is the most common medical examination:
- Physical Fitness: for you to become a nurse, you must be in good physical health to perform your duties effectively.
Simply, a medical examination is performed to assess your overall health, strength, endurance, and mobility.
- Vision and Hearing: To enroll for a nursing course, you must have good vision and hearing to perform your duties as a nurse.
Remember, you must be able to read patient charts, monitor vital signs, and communicate with patients and colleagues effectively.
