YMCA lifeguard training course (All you need to know)

First,

What is the YMCA lifeguard training course all about?

Well, it is a training program for interested swimmers to learn how to prevent injuries and respond to emergencies at any aquatic body. It is also known as the YMCA lifesaving course.

It focuses on water rescue and safety, preparing lifeguards to anticipate and prevent dangers.

In short, this YMCA lifeguard training course is primarily intended for those with strong swimming skills and a desire to ensure the safety of others in and around water.

Furthermore, this course goes beyond basic lifeguarding skills and includes CPR, first aid, and AED training.

It is typically a good course if you want to advance in your swimming career and life skills.

You can also become a coach or trainer after obtaining a lifesaving certificate.

With this program, you may be able to find work at swimming pools, beaches, water parks, and other aquatic facilities.

By the end of the course, you will have learned the following skills:

  • Dry rescues and techniques
  • Emergency water entries
  • Lifesaving strokes
  • CPR, ear and first aid
  • Survival skills

Having said that, the lifeguard training course is open to a wide range of people, including:

  • Aspiring lifeguards looking for comprehensive training
  • Recreational swimmers who want to improve their safety awareness
  • Parents or caregivers who want to ensure their families’ safety around water

With that in mind, it’s worth noting that the YMCA lifeguard is only available at the Kenya YMCA Aquatics Centre, which was founded in the 1980s and provides excellent swimming pools and aquatic activities.
