KUCCPS diploma education courses requirements and available options

If you are passionate about becoming a teacher, it is important to choose the right subject combination- some combinations are not marketable and you may ‘tarmac’ for years if you go for them.

Here are the KUCCPS diploma education courses requirements and available subject combinations to help you make an informed choice when applying for the Diploma in Teacher Education course.

KUCCPS diploma education courses- requirements for diploma in education secondary option

Overall, applicants must satisfy the following requirements to be considered for the Diploma in Teacher Education course:

Mean grade: C+

Mathematics: C plain

English: C plain

In addition, you need to have scored a C+ grade in the two teaching subjects you prefer.

Put simply, if, for instance, you will opt for the Biology/Physics combination, you need to have scored a C+ grade in both biology and physics.

For this reason, you need to satisfy the following requirements:

Mean grade: C+ (plus)

Mathematics: C plain

English: C plain

Biology: C+ (plus)

Physics: C+ (plus)

Likewise, if you’ll be going for Mathematics/Computer combination, you need to have scored a C+ grade in both Mathematics and Computer.

That means you need to have these requirements:

Mean grade: C+ (plus)

Mathematics: C+ plus

English: C plain

Computer: C+ (plus)

KUCCPS diploma in education – Requirements for diploma in education primary option

KUCCPS portal requirements for applicants interested in the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education as well as the Diploma in ECDE (Early Childhood Teacher Education) has been changed to just a C plain.

In other words, the only requirement now is just a KCSE mean grade of C(plain) for the above two courses….
