If you have plans of enrolling in a university or college to enroll for an IT also known as ICT in some colleges in Kenya, then you should not change your mind.
What I mean by this is that, IT/ICT are good courses…yeah…. and most of these courses are marketable courses that you don’t need to tarmac for years looking for a job.
In fact, if you’re creative and strategic enough, you can secure yourself a job even when you don’t possess more than a diploma in the field.

Craft Certificate Courses
A craft certificate in IT is a program that provides learners with slightly more in-depth knowledge and skills in IT than the artisan level – a Certificate in IT course is designed to equip you with more practical skills in various IT fields.
Minimum entry requirements
To qualify for a craft certificate course, one must have an aggregate grade of D (PLAIN) in KCSE OR an equivalent qualification that must be recognized by the College Senate.

Diploma Courses (Diploma in ICT)
Diploma courses in IT are more extensive than certificate courses and take longer to complete.

Minimum entry requirements
KCSE mean grade of C- (minus) or its equivalent.
Degree Courses
Degree courses in IT are four-year programs offered by different universities and a few other tertiary institutions.

IT courses in Kenya requirements – Recap
In summary, the minimum entry requirements to pursue an IT course in Kenya vary based on the level of study and where you’ll be studying.
But, in most cases, the requirements are an E grade for Artisan in IT, a D plain for a craft certificate, a C- for a Diploma in It, and a C+ mean grade for a BSC in ICT course.
You, of course, must have a Bachelors Degree (plus some experience, in some cases) if you’re planning to take a master’s degree in IT course.
