Certificate in Public Administration in Kenya

You can take a Certificate in Leadership and Public Administration at Chuka University.

KCSE Mean Grade: D (and above) in KCSE

Additional requirements: You must also have a D plain English or Kiswahili.

Diploma in Public Administration& Management

The Kenya Institute of Social Work(KISW) is another alternative if you want to take a Diploma..

Minimum Entry Qualifications

KCSE Mean Grade: C- (or KCE Division 2 or an equivalent) OR

Certificate in fields such as Social development, Social work/Community development, and Project management.

Target group: The course is open to beginners(fresh students), project managers, and development facilitators.

Bachelor of Science (Bsc) in Public Administration & Leadership

If you want to take a degree in Public administration in Kenya, you can enroll for this course at JKUAT.

Minimum entry requirements

KCSE Mean Grade: C+

Additional requirements: You must also have a C plain in mathematics or English.

Other acceptable qualifications:  Diploma (with a credit pass-at least) in county governance (from JKUAT or alternative recognized university).

Bachelor of Public Policy & Administration(BPPA)

KU also offers a Bachelor of Public Policy & Administration(BPPA) and it can be an option too.

KCSE Mean Grade: C+

Additional requirements: You must also have a C- in Maths and C(plain) in English.

Other acceptable qualifications:

Diploma (with a credit pass-at least) in a relevant area (from KU or alternative recognized university) plus a C plain(KCSE Mean Grade).

OR

Certificate/Diploma in a relevant area(from KU or alternative recognized university) plus a C- plain(KCSE Mean Grade).

If you want to advance to Masters, you have an option of taking an MA in Public Policy & Administration. You can take this course at KU and you need to have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (Second Class Honours -Upper Division-at least) from any recognized university in Kenya in any relevant specialization area

OR

Bachelor’s Degree (Second Class Honours -lower Division) from any recognized university in Kenya in any relevant specialization area along with a grade C (or above) in units that are relevant to your area of specialization
