Now, what you should note is that the fee for TVET colleges has been standardized by the Ministry of Education, State department of Higher Education
So the fee is largely the same regardless of where you are studying.
And it is as follows- even at Karumo technical training institute- for all courses(Artisan, Certificate, and Diploma levels)
Fees for whole year (academic year, which is two semesters)- Kshs.67189.00
I had already mentioned that this applies to all courses Artisan, Certificate, and Diploma.
The breakdown is normally as follows:
Term/Sem 1 -Kshs.35220.00
Term/Sem 2-Kshs.31969.00
Total(Annual) -Kshs. 67189.00
Other fee you need to budget for while you’re joining:
- Registration
- KUCCPS Fee
- Student levy
- Student ID card
- Essentials for the course you’re doing- you might need to buy items like a laptop, dust coats, etc. depending on what course you’re doing.
Oh, and make sure you have extra money to pay for your accommodation(hostels) and meals.
Be sure to apply for government funding(scholarship and loan- if necessary) through the higher education funding website www.hef.co.ke
Once you do that, the government could help you pay for the above fees –you may even get 100% scholarship, if the HEF system categorises you as vulnerable / extremely needy.
Remember you apply for this funding after getting placed (by KUCCPS, so it is best to apply for your preferred course through official KUCCPS portal, when it opens)
