Summary of the Role:

Job Description:
- Coordinate and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion.
- Liaise with consultants and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Oversee site coordination, including scheduling, progress monitoring, and resolving technical issues.
- Support project procurement, including materials and equipment sourcing.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE VACANCY- Kenya Railway Golf Club (KRGC)
Title: Payables Accountant
Location: Nairobi
Salary: Gross of Ksh. 60,000
Reports to: Finance Manager
Summary:
The Payables Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the club’s accounts payable functions.
This role involves ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, managing payment disbursements, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
The Payables Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the club by ensuring that all liabilities are reported and paid promptly and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an approved up-to-date Vendor/supplier data base in the accounts payable system.
- Ensure proper documentation and approvals are obtained for all company invoices.
- Inputting/ booking of approved invoices accurately into the accounts payable system.
- Verify invoices to check the unit of issue, unit price, quantity and applicable taxes against the company’s purchase order and Goods Receiving Note
- Obtain approval from the relevant departmental heads for those invoices without purchase orders & GRNs before booking them in the ERP.
- Reconcile Vendor / supplier statements regularly to ensure all liabilities for a specific period/month are recognized /recorded / booked.
- Ensure proper and timely payment of supplier invoices according to the supplier contractual terms and the company cash availability.
- Process all accounts payable invoices and cheque payments through the club ERP.
- Prepare and submit payments with all the supporting documents (Invoice, LPO, GRV, statements and reconciliation) to his/her supervisor for approval.
- Maintain current files (Manual or electronic) (i) For approved purchase orders (ii) Approved & serviced purchase orders with GRNs whose invoices are not received (iii) Approved orders with GRNs & Invoices awaiting payment processing
- Maintain Alphabetical files by supplier containing complete invoices and back up attached to all cheques for efficient access after payment. All filling to be kept current.
- Monthly reconciliation of supplier statement to ensure their balances are accurate.
- Reconcile, file and make timely payments of Taxes and other statutory obligations. (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, VAT, WITHOLDING TAX, TOURISM LEVY and any other statutory obligation)
Key Performance Indicators:
- Timely payment of Trade creditors by 5th and 20th of every month.
- Update Pending LPO’s report every Wednesday by 5pm.
- Tax & Payroll deductions filing and payment as per various company SLA’s. (4th, and 26th every month).
- Fully reconciled aged creditors report by working day 2 of each month.
- Clear reconciling items within a single Pay-run.
- Prepare Payment Projections by 5th of every Month.
- Fully Reconciled balance sheet ledgers by working day 2 of every month
- Prepare club competition payments (petty cash) every Thursday of the week.
- Periodic balance sheet clean-up every Thursday.
- Ensure all approved payments have been released by the bank within 24hrs.
- Process Petty cash payments within 24hrs of request.
Desired Academic & Professional qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance from a recognized institution.
- Must be a qualified accountant with relevant professional qualifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or ACCA.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting.
- Excellent grasp of Financial and Management Accounting; Taxation and relevant legislation.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Preparation of Financial Statements.
- Working knowledge of financial information management system
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Problem solving skills
- 5+ years of continuous work experience having worked within the hospitality industry will be an added advantage
