The County Government of Nyeri wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions:

COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF NYERI JOBS

SPORTS OFFICER, JOB GROUP ‘K’ (2 Posts)

Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this grade, an officer must:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID)
  2. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Physical Education; Sports Science; Leisure and Recreation Management or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Sports Administration and Management lasting not less than two (2) years or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

 

FIREMEN (DIVERS) J/G ‘F’ (3 No. Posts)

Requirement for appointment For appointment to this grade, an officer must;

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID) 4
  2. Be a holder of a KCSE Certificate
  • Possess a Fire engineering/Fire Marshal Certificate from a recognized fire training institution.
  1. Be physically and medically fit as certified by a Government Doctor;
  2. Possess a first aid certificate lasting more than one week from St. John Ambulance or Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other equivalent from a recognized institution.
  3. Possessing a certificate in driving, Emergency Medical Response (EMR), Incident Command System (ICS), and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) will be an added advantage.
  • Possessing a diving or swimming certificate from a recognized institution in Kenya.

 

FIRE ENGINE OPERATOR – Job Group ‘F’ (2 No. Posts)

Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID)
  2. Be a holder of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education / O-level education (Minimum grade D)
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle driving license class BCE; 5
  1. Have a minimum of two (2) years of proven experience in fire engine/firefighting equipment operation;
  2. Be physically and medically fit as certified by a Government Doctor;
  3. Be a holder of a firefighting/rescue service certificate from an institution recognized in Kenya
  • Demonstrate experience in managing disasters.
  • Possess a first aid certificate lasting more than one week from St. John Ambulance or Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other equivalent from a recognized institution.
  1. Possess of a Grade III certificate and above in vehicle mechanics/maintenance will be an added advantage;
  2. Former members of the disciplined forces and the NYS who have undergone firefighting training or ex-fire fighters/fire engine operators will have an added advantage

 

ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD OFFICER – Job Group ‘K’ (1 Post)

Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID)
  2. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science Studies, Natural Resources Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledge of computer studies. Knowledge of GIS will be an added advantage.
  1. Be a member of and in good standing with EIK or any other relevant professional body.
  2. Have at least Three (3) years of experience in the field of environmental management/education.
  3. Be registered Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Expert with the National Environmental Management Authority and accredited by a reputable and recognized agency and be in good standing.
  • Valid Practicing license issued by the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).

 

ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD OFFICER (Social Safeguards Liaison Officer) – Job Group ‘K’ (1 Post)

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID).
  2. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science Studies, Natural Resources Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledge of computer studies. Knowledge of GIS will be an added advantage.

FOREST GUARDS – Job Group ‘E’ (7 Posts)

Requirements for appointment

  • Must be a Kenyan Citizen (Attach ID)
  • Minimum of D+ in KCSE,
  • Be age 18-35 years,
  • Be 5.6ft (men) and 5.3ft (women) in height as certified by a Registered Medical Officer from a Government Hospital.
  • Be physically and medically fit as certified by a Registered Medical Officer from a Government Hospital. • Female candidates should not be pregnant before recruitment and during training

 

COOK II – Job Group ‘F’ (5 Posts)

Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID)
  • Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education mean grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification.
  • Craft Certificate in Food and Beverage Production, Sales and Service or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • A medical report from a Government Health facility.

 

COOK I – Job Group ‘G’ (4 POSTS)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID)
  2. Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education mean grade C- (minus) or its equivalent qualification
  • Have attended a course lasting not less than one (1) year and awarded a Certificate in Food Production or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  1. Served in a relevant and comparable position for a minimum period of two (2) years.
  2. A medical report from a Government Health facility.

MORTUARY ATTENDANT/MORTICIAN – Job Group ‘E’ ONE (1) POST

  • Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID)
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in a busy mortuary or a reputable Funeral Home
  • KCSE D (Plain) (iv) Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong English and Swahili language skills
  • Training in embalming and grief counseling.

ACCOUNTANT II, Job Group “J” (2 Posts)

For appointment to the grade, the candidate must have the following qualifications: –

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID)
  2. A candidate must have a bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or Business Administration (Accounting option) and passed Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICER II, JOB GROUP ‘J’ (3 Posts)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID)
  2. Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: – Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), Procurement and Supplies Management, or their equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  • Be a member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)

 

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICER I – JOB GROUP ‘K’ (3 Posts)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID),
  2. A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following; -Commerce, Business Administration (Supply Chain Management Option), Procurement and Supplies Management or their equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Possess a minimum experience in a comparable and relevant position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  1. Be a member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).

 

CO-OPERATIVE AUDITOR I1 – Job Group ‘J’ (2 post)

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID),
  2. Possess a bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) and Business Administration (Accounting option) and passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination.
  • Registration with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants will be an added advantage.

 

TRADE DEVELOPMENT OFFICER II- Job Group ‘J’ (2 POST)

For appointment to the grade an officer must have the: –

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID),
  2. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Marketing, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, or Entrepreneurship from a recognized institution.

CULTURAL OFFICER II – Job Group ‘J’ (1 POST)

For appointment to the grade an officer must have the: –

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen (attach ID),
  2. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, History, Archaeology, Creative Arts, Theatre Arts, Music, Fine Arts, Kiswahili and Literary Studies, Indigenous Languages or its equivalent from a recognized institution
