Side note: It should be noted that certificate courses take a duration of 2 years in KMTC except certificate in nursing which takes 21/2 years.
Having said that, it is worth noting that during the second year, you will not pay for registration fee Kshs 2,000 and student identity card Kshs. 700, therefore you only pay Kshs. 78,000 as follows:

How to apply for KMTC admission
When intakes are open, KMTC & KUCCPS usually announce its intakes through social media platforms such as, newspapers, TV, radio, and online.
When announced, you then go ahead and apply online from the student application portal on the KUCCPS website immediately they advertise before the application deadline.
Side note: Don’t forget to follow all the guidelines listed on the KMTC applications website keenly.
Important tips you must know when applying
- If you discontinue you studies for one reason or another, you will be expected to pay full fees accordingly on resumption.
- Upon dismissal fees is not refundable
- You can apply as either a regular or parallel study.
- Just so you know, if you apply as a regular student, the fee is subsidized and accommodation is offered to you (this is optional).
- However, you must keep in mind that if you apply as a regular student, you cannot choose the KMTC campus to attend.
- If you apply as a parallel student, you are in a position to choose your favorite campus that you would like to join but the fee is not subsidized and does not provide accommodation.

1. How long is a certificate course at KMTC?
Certificate courses offered at KMTC takes 2 years to study. However, a certificate course in nursing takes a longer duration than other courses of 2 years and a half.
2. Do governments sponsor KMTC students?
Yes! the government sponsor government students, however, to become KMTC government sponsored student you need to apply as a regular student and not as a self-sponsored student (parallel student). Therefore, when making your application, you must be very keen and select regular if you want to be sponsored by the government and your fee will be subsidized.
3. Do KMTC certificate students wear uniform?
Just like any other student, you must be in full specified school uniform as per dress code given during admission to be allowed to attend any class or office.
4. How long is one semester in KMTC?
To have an idea of how long a semester takes at KMTC, it should be noted that the first semester begins during early September to late January and the second semester begins in early February to late July.
