About Chesta Teachers Training College

Chesta TTC is the only public teachers’ training college in West Pokot County. The name “Chesta” means “Star” in the Pokot language.

The institution was first established by ELCK missionaries in 2010. However, the private college later faced challenges and closed. In response, the government re-established and officially registered Chesta TTC on 4th April 2014 to meet the growing demand for teacher training opportunities in the region. The first group of students joined in October 2014.

Today, the college trains future teachers who can support learning in primary schools and junior schools under CBC.
