JKUAT Bachelor of Pharmacy requirements

This course is taught full-time and takes five (5) academic years to complete.

Minimum entry requirements:

You must meet the following minimum requirements to be eligible for this bachelor’s degree program:

A KCSE mean grade of B- (minus) and above, with an average cluster weight of B- (minus) in the following subjects, provided that no subject shall have a grade below C+ (plus):

• Chemistry
• Biology
• Mathematics/Physics
• English/Kiswahili

Alternative B

• Biological Sciences
• Physical Sciences
• Mathematics
• English/Kiswahili

Other alternative qualifications:

You may also be eligible for the degree program if you hold one of the following credentials:

• A KCSE mean grade of C (plain), with a minimum score of C (plain) in each of the cluster subjects listed above, and a credit pass in Diploma Pharmaceutical Technology from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.

Or,

• A Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from an Institution recognized by the University Senate.

Please keep in mind that in both of the above cases, you must have two years of work experience.

The total tuition fee for the program is Kshs. 451,981 per academic year.

JKUAT intakes for the bachelor of pharmacy course

JKUAT typically holds admissions three times per year, in September, January, and May.

In order to be admitted as a government-sponsored student, you must apply for the course at JKUAT through the KUCCPS portal. Remember that if you are placed by KUCCPS, you will be eligible for government scholarships and loans.
