If you can’t make it to the above-mentioned schools, check out any public TVET college near you.

The best thing about most government owned technical institutions is that you can get funding from HELB besides benefiting from subsidized fees thanks to the Government capitation.

Majority of these colleges offer fashion and design courses at the craft, certificate, and diploma levels.

Fashion design course requirements

Artisan Certificate in Fashion design course (Also called certificate in Fashion and design /garment making)

KCSE Mean Grade: D- (there are no special cluster subjects/requirements)

Craft Certificate in fashion design course in Kenya

• KCSE Mean Grade: D plain (Minimum) or its equivalent

Diploma in fashion and design course in Kenya

The course just needs a C- (there are no special cluster subjects/requirements)

Degree in fashion and design course at KU and other universities

KCSE Mean grade: C+ (Plus).

You must also have  C+ (Plus)-at least- in either Home Science or Art and Design or in any one science subject.

Alternatively:

KCSE Mean grade: C (Plain) plus a Diploma in Fashion and Design ( with a credit pass-at least)  from an accredited institution.

OR

KCSE Mean grade: C- (minus) plus a Certificate and a Diploma in Fashion and Design ( with a credit pass-at least) obtained from KU or any accredited institution.
