1.      Certificate in Health Records and Information

Minimum Entry Requirement

Mean grade of C- in your KCSE

More to that, you must have attained the following grades in the cluster subjects.

Cluster subject’s requirements:

• C- in English or Kiswahili
• D in Biology/ Biological Sciences
• D- in Mathematics
• And D+ in any one of the following: – Physics/Physical Sciences, Chemistry, General Science, Computer Studies, agriculture, Home Science, Economics, Geography, Commerce, and Business Studies

Course Duration:

2 years

2.      Diploma in Health Counselling

This is yet another course that you can study with D in Biology.

Entry requirement:

Mean grade C

Cluster subjects:

• C in English or Kiswahili
• D in Biology/Biological Sciences
• C in either Religious Studies, or History

Course duration:

In most of the selected institutions, this course takes 3 years.

3.      Certificate in Community Health Assistant

Minimum Entry Requirements:

Mean grade of C- in your KCSE.

On top of that, you must have scored the following grades in the mandatory subjects.

Cluster subjects’ requirements:

• D+ in English or Kiswahili
• D in Biology/ Biological Sciences
• Also, you must have a D in any of the following: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics/Physical Sciences, Agriculture, Home Science

Course duration:

The course takes a duration of 2 years.

Medical courses with D plain in Biology – More courses

4. Certificate in Medical Engineering

Minimum Entry Requirements:

Mean grade of C- in your Kenya certificate of secondary education (KCSE).

Along with that, you need to have scored the following grades in the cluster subjects.

Cluster subjects’ qualifications:

• C- in English or Kiswahili
• D in Mathematics
• D- in Physics/Physical Sciences
• D in any one of the following subjects; Chemistry, Biology/Biological Sciences, Electricity, Metal Work, Technical Drawing

5.      Certificate in Nutrition & Dietetics

To study this course, do not apply if you do not have a minimum grade of D plain in your KCSE.

Besides, you must also need the following grades in the additional subjects.

Cluster subject requirements:

• D plain in English
• D plain in Biology/Biological Sciences
• D (plain) in Chemistry
• And also, you must have scored D in one of the following subjects; Mathematics, Home Science, Physics, Agriculture, or General Sciences

6.      Certificate in Health Promotion for the Deaf (CHPD)

Entry requirements:

Mean Grade (in your KCSE): D+ (plus)

Besides, you must also need the following grades in the cluster subjects.

Cluster subjects’ requirements:

• English/Kenya Sign Language – D+ grade
• Biology – D plain

Additionally, you need to have attained D (plain) grade in these subjects:

• Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, General Sciences.

Side note: Please bear in mind that, the course is only for deaf students and it is offered by KMTC.

D plain in your KCSE.

In short, this course is for anyone interested in working in HIV/AIDS programs.
